Seyssel is a commune in the Ain department in eastern France.

It lies on the west bank of the Rhône River.

The town also extends onto the left bank of the Rhône, but that forms the area generally known as Seyssel Savoie, as it a neighboring and exactly homonymous commune, also named Seyssel (the unique such case in France), situated in the Haute-Savoie department and a mere two kilometres from the department of Savoie.
